It is sometimes difficult to decide whether to repair or replace. The following are some basic "rules of thumb" for when to repair:
 if the cost is less than half the cost of the replacement
if there is sentimental value
if your camera meets your photographic needs
if you already have many accessories for your camera
if you are happy with your camera and prefer to not learn a new system
if you are planning to replace your camera with a used one
